Privacy policy
The only thing we ask you for is the details you type into an enquiry form. There are no cookies, no advertising trackers, and no third-party analytics scripts. This page explains what happens to an enquiry, how long we keep it, and how to get it deleted.
Who is responsible
Maximilian Berentzen, based in Cyprus, operating yourcyprusproperty.com, is the data controller. Contact: hello@yourcyprusproperty.com.
What we collect
Only what the form asks for: your name, email address, whether you're buying or selling, area of interest, rough budget, your message if you write one, and the date you submitted it — along with a record that you ticked the consent box.
Nothing else. No account, no profile, no tracking across sites.
Like any website, ours records the technical basics of each visit — the IP address the request came from, the browser used, and the page requested. That happens at the hosting level, it's what keeps a site running and secure, and we don't use it to identify anyone or link it to an enquiry.
Why, and on what basis
Two purposes, and two different legal bases:
- To reply to you and introduce you to an estate agency. Basis: your consent, given by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time.
- To handle the enquiry itself — reading it, answering questions, keeping a record that the introduction happened. Basis: our legitimate interest in running the service you asked to use.
We don't use enquiry details for marketing, we don't run a newsletter, and we don't sell or rent data to anyone.
We may contact you once or twice afterwards about that same enquiry — for example to ask whether the agency got in touch. That's part of the introduction, not marketing.
Who receives it
Partner estate agencies
Licensed Cyprus agencies, chosen for the area you're interested in. We don't publish the list, but we'll tell you which agencies we work with if you ask before submitting.
Service providers who handle the data on our behalf
- Formspree — receives the form submission and passes it to our inbox. Based in the United States, hosting with Amazon Web Services. Transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Formspree's storage of submissions is switched off, so they relay the message rather than keep a copy.
- Cloudflare — routes email sent to our address, and serves this website.
- Proton — our email provider. Based in Switzerland, which the European Commission recognises as providing adequate data protection.
This means an enquiry leaves the EU on its way to us. The Standard Contractual Clauses are the safeguard for that.
How long we keep it
Twelve months from the date you send it. Then it's deleted.
Where an introduction led to a commission, we keep a record of the transaction itself — the date, the agency, the amount — for as long as Cyprus tax and accounting rules require. That record is about the business, not about you personally, beyond the fact that an introduction happened.
Your rights
- Access a copy of what we hold.
- Correct it, if it's wrong.
- Have it deleted.
- Restrict how it's used.
- Object to it being used.
- Receive it in a portable format.
- Withdraw your consent, at any time.
Email hello@yourcyprusproperty.com and say what you want. There's no form to fill in and no charge. Deleting an enquiry takes minutes.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies. There is nothing to consent to, which is why there is no cookie banner.
Complaints
If you think we've handled your data badly, tell us first — it's usually a misunderstanding and it's faster to fix directly.
You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus, which supervises this.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
